    Job Description

    A globally renowned ICT market intelligence, consulting, and events firm is seeking a native-Arabic-speaking Egyptian resident to fill the post of full-time in-house Translator/Editor.

    The candidate will be translating and editing English to Arabic or Arabic to English, you will be part of a publishing team based out of Cairo and will report to the Senior Editor based in Dubai.

    Responsibilities

    • Read the original material and translate into Arabic/English, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retained

    • Conduct online secondary research and ensure web content is both user and customer friendly

    • Translate product descriptions, website content, and offline marketing materials

    • Translate, edit and proof read IDC online and offline publications

    • Edit highly technical ICT research reports and presentations for grammar, style, vocabulary and logic of content

    • Edit other text as required (e.g., ICT marketing and sales texts, brochures, adverts, press articles, etc.)


    Job Requirements

    • A university degree or equivalent

    • Experience in editing Arabic texts (a minimum of two years' editing experience)

    • An excellent work ethic

    • Meticulous translating/editing skills

    • Timely delivery of Arabic content across all channels

    • Accuracy and quality of translation and proximity to original source text

    • Impeccable written Arabic and very strong writing skills (to be able to rewrite complex and highly technical passages in a meaningful manner)

    • A sound knowledge of ICT and technology terminologies that vary across the Middle East region

    • Highly proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint, plus basic Excel skills

    • An ability to manage numerous projects in parallel

    • Possess solid planning and management skills and assigning deadlines for delivery

    • An ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines and perform consistently under pressure

    • An ability to work flexibly and act as a team member

    Job Details
