Job Description
This position will be responsible for helping to progressively increase income to UNHCR from the private sector in Egypt, with a focus on High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) through the development of an expanding Leadership Giving (LG) pipeline with an agreed financial target.
The incumbent is expected to maintain and capitalize on the few existing donors, handle aggressive prospecting and set the strategy for significant growth from Egypt.
Strategy: develop and implement 3 year strategic plans for Private Sector Partnerships in Egypt, with a focus on engagement of major donors and HNWIs, with an agreed financial targets in LG contributions.
Market/ Prospect Research: carry out targeted market research to identify sizable giving trends in Egypt, identify prospect donors (especially HNWIs) and guide the strategy and its implementation accordingly.
Database: use Salesforce on daily basis to update necessary donor records with required static and dynamic information, with special attention paid to donation opportunities and logging in communication such as emails, calls and face-to-face meetings.
Prospect cultivation: identify, approach, cultivate and cater to donors and prospect donors. This includes but is not limited to: written and verbal communication, meetings, submitting proposals, organizing field visits, and carrying out activities that lead to the sustainability of donor giving (multi-year engagement).
Drafting skills: prepare, draft and finalize donor relevant documents such as project proposals, partnership/ engagement proposals, reports, grant agreements, etc.
Internal stakeholders: assure relevant colleagues from the Egypt operation, PSP MENA and other relevant colleagues are involved in the overall strategy setting and implementation.
Reporting: handle monthly and quarterly reports on PSP activities, prospects in Egypt, in addition to achieved income in relation to financial targets.
Field Support: provide PSP MENA with the necessary support to collect information and content from Egypt. Additionally, provide assistance in the production of multimedia content (copywriting, photo, and video) and social media content for digital fundraising purposes.
Field missions: act as focal point for PSP MENA staff for the organization of missions to Egypt, if any.
Networking: build a network of external stakeholders focused on fundraising (including HNWIs and influencers), and coordinate with relevant units/roles to respond to requests and provide proper packages for them.
Fundraising opportunities: assist in the organization of online/offline lead generation/ fundraising opportunities in conjunction with special events and/or on ad-hoc basis.
Legalities: ensure compliance with the relevant domestic law related to fundraising practice, fundraising licensing and data protection, when needed.
Perform any other related duties that may be required.
Under the overall dual supervision of the Senior PSP Officer and the Reporting & Donor Relations Officer, the Associate PSP Officer will be responsible to:
Job Requirements
University Degree in Marketing, Communications, or other related field.
Minimum 4 years of relevant work, and 2 years for Master degree.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
Knowledge of the UN system preferably with UNHCR or another UN Agency.
Strong project management skills including planning and schedule creation.
Good market knowledge of private sector fundraising in Egypt.
Relevant experience of developing communication initiatives to support fundraising programmes.
Understanding of digital communications and marketing including social media, audience analysis techniques and how to apply them.
Experience in multi-media production is an asset.
Relevant professional network established with key players in the regional media.
Knowledge of regional media and digital environment.

Major Donor Fundraising and corporate fundraising experience.
Good computer skills are an asset for overseeing the development of proposals and reports to corporate and other donors and for carrying out reporting and analysis needs.
Familiarity with the UN in general and a good knowledge of UNHCR operations both at Headquarters and in the Field.
Ability to work independently and to exercise good judgement is valuable for this position, which requires a certain level of maturity, sensitivity and leadership by example.
Knowledge of refugee issues and of UNHCRor another human rights-oriented agency.
