Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, In Patient Units – Western educated & trained
Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer will direct, assign and delegate In-patient Nursing activities for the assigned Units.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Participates in formulating, reviewing and revising policies and procedures.
Coordinates the provision of safe efficient, and economical nursing care in line with established standards of practice.
Makes rounds in all patient care areas; is abreast of clinical issues, staffing patterns and customer service needs.
Ensures adequate numbers of competent, engaged staff to deliver care, keeping within the budgeted allowances
Supports and develops leadership talent in others and seeks opportunities to develop future leaders for the AHD by role modeling and mentoring staff
Participates in management meetings and supports Hospital long term goals
Provides direction and support to front line nursing managers
Develops and supports plans and programs related to nursing education and oversees compliance with mandatory education requirements
Demonstrates a high level of organizational problem solving skills ensuring efficient functioning of hospital systems. Assumes responsibility as Hospital administrator when required.
Assures financial performance in both operational and capital acquisition processes for assigned units in the nursing department in collaboration with the CNO
Uses an analytical approach to assure balanced initiatives between clinical excellence and financial performance
Recognizes areas for improvement and puts programs in place to resolve these
Oversees assigned unit performance
Job Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Nursing
Post Graduate qualification in Nursing Management desirable.
Preferred Master’s Degree or Master’s prepared
Minimum of 5-7 years post-graduate experience (preferably varied clinical background) including 3 years in a managerial/similar capacity
Recent UAE experience in private Hospital setting desired
Demonstrated leadership / managerial abilities
Current nursing licensure in home country
ACLS/ BLS certification
Proven competence in the Administration and Management of nursing patient care service/s in a private Hospital setting
Demonstrated ability for collaboration at all levels of nursing and maintaining strong relationships with Physician leaders and Senior Management team leaders
Proven ability to work effectively with teams and employees of all levels in a healthcare organization and experience with developing and supporting organizational goals and objectives
