Job Description
Preparation and maintenance of data to be used to conduct statistical and actuarial analysis. Assist with actuarial analyses on AXA Gulf’s Non Life portfolio in order to improve profitability and pricing of products, and assist the Senior Actuarial Analyst in various actuarial issues.
The Actuarial team is part of the Fiannce department and is involved in a very large panel of activities such as pricing, reserving and reporting. The actuarial team is fully embedded into the company strategy by providing analysis and opinions, serving growth and sustainability.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Take ownership of data extraction, processing and reconciliation to financials.
Complete regular technical reporting and respond to queries
Assist in the assessment of ultimate loss ratio/IBNR projections
Provides underwriting statistics and recommendations on the adequacy of premium rates and rating methods
Assist with pricing of large accounts
Assist with annual portfolio pricing review (GLM)
Assist with ad-hoc studies as requested by the Senior Actuarial Analyst or Chief Actuary
Suggest and implement changes to processes to maximise efficiency
Involved in the detailed review, design, development and implementation of actuarial practices, documentation, procedures and instruction manuals
Job Requirements
Good knowledge Excel/VBA and SAS/WPS
Good academic knowledge of statistics and economics
Reserving and/or pricing (Motor particularely) experience
Analytical through processing and problem solving.
Able to wrok under pressure against tight deadlines
Sound knowledge in insurance business specifically in property and casualty and personal lines.
2-5 years’ work experience in an actuarial department, with practical experience on tariff calculations and / or reserving
