RAKBANK is currently recruiting for the role of Assistant Manager - Financial Control
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
Leading the GL project implementation, designing the structure/architecture and ensuring the smooth functioning of GL control
Developing, maintaining and reviewing Chart of accounts (COA)
Supervising and ensuring the efficient working of all financial transactions in the organization
Developing journal entries and monitoring the account reconciliation
Evaluating and taking necessary steps to enhance/optimize the current accounting policies and processes
Elucidating as well as delivering user stories and acceptance criteria to the project team and developers, for the required changes in accounting and finance
Reviewing of testing results for the process/system related changes in the bank
Making accounting entries sign off in UAT for the changes in the respective systems
Verifying end to end accounting entries through all the channels
Acting as a subject matter expert and communicating with relevant stakeholders on the change initiatives which has GL impact
Representing the finance team in discussions to identify interdependencies, and providing functional inputs to changes/ new requirements related to accounting and finance
Overseeing the reconciliation of GL accounts through various systems
Ensuring the timely delivery of project within the agreed timelines
Automating finance and accounting activities/reports
Job Requirements
5 - 10 years of experience in Banking & Finance
Understanding of banking products, General Ledger maintenance and reconciliation
Prior experience in General Ledger implementation
Knowledge in core banking system is an added advantage
Ability to understand and implement accounting standards
Ability to manage relationship with vendors/internal stakeholders
Awareness of AML, customer confidentiality, safety & security standards
Awareness of banking regulatory framework, banking policies, fair practices
