HSBC is currently recruiting for the role of Global Mobility Relationship Manager
The Global Mobility Relationship Manager is responsible for ensuring that international assignments and international transfers are delivered in a way that ensures an excellent employee experience in line with the Group international assignment policies, and also complies with the legal and regulatory requirements of the respective locations. The role holder is expected to support countries in MENAT including SABB and extend support to Continental Europe countries.
Duties and Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities in this role include the following:
The role will functionally report directly to the regional head of Performance and Reward, MENAT.
The role holder has responsibility for International Assignees moving in/out and within MENAT and selected Europe markets for the Bank’s own entities and between subsidiaries. It also covers all business functions within MENAT e.g. GB&M, Global Functions, etc.
Supporting several International Assignee types requires an in depth knowledge of all policies and processes. A broad knowledge of international tax, social security, pensions, immigration regulations and local practices of countries in which the Group's assignees are employed is essential.
Close liaison with the Group’s international tax consultants, country compensation data providers, relocation companies and immigration advisers is a major feature of the department.
The job holder is constantly involved with executives of all levels of seniority, Group HR Departments, Country CEO’s and external organizations around the world.
The job holder will be expected over time to have a detailed knowledge of the HSBC Group structure and understand the wider business entities and the longer term strategy of the organization
Continuous and mutually beneficial interface between GM Central Operations and all other regional GM teams
Regional consultancy role for all key regional stakeholders
Relationship Management for inbound & outbound MENAT population (key point of contact)
Key point of contact for tax and social security-related queries within the GM team in the first instance
Job Requirements
The role holder should possess at least Bachelor’s degree
Tax qualification (e.g. ATT, CTA) is highly preferred
Experience of working in Global Mobility (in-house or Big 4) role for at least 5 years
Experience in expatriate management is required
Extensive experience of delivering advisory services around international expatriate personal tax and social security, preferably gained in a big 4 consulting environment. Management of at least 1 compliance season preferred.
Experience of working in international environments and having a true international perspective, fostering an open-minded approach to work and stakeholders.
Ability to provide technical expertise on all stages of the assignment lifecycle, including policy explanation, assignment structuring, cost containment, compensation delivery and regulatory compliance.
Ability to translate customer and business needs into strategic and realistic business cases.
Strong numeracy, analytical and advanced spreadsheet skills, with the ability to understand and interpret complex concepts
Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication skills, aware of audience and how any information communicated is received. Able to produce written business communications, as appropriate
Understanding of operational risk and experience in identifying & implementing controls to mitigate such risks.
Excellent project, planning and organisational skills.
Ability to work under pressure in a matrix environment with conflicting demands.
Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve challenges and issues.
Ability to make considered decisions that protect and enhance HSBC’s values, reputation and commercial interests.
A positive, proactive and flexible attitude and ability to demonstrate initiative
Fluency in English is mandatory and the ability to speak Cantonese and/or Mandarin is desirable
