Kuwait Airways is actively recruiting for the position of Sr. Officer, Accounts based in Cairo at the Kuwait Airways Office, Egypt Station. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading airline and contribute to the efficient management of outstation accounting operations. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, guiding, and advising all general sales agency accounting activities, managing the allocation of outstation expenditures billed by other airlines, and monitoring bank guarantees and related records. You will implement action plans for continuous improvement in GSA accounting activities, secure necessary approvals, and ensure timely and accurate completion of accounting processes in accordance with KAC rules and regulations. Additionally, you will assist in implementing automated accounting systems for self-accounting and GSA stations, reviewing station accounting procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
As a Sr. Officer, Accounts, you will participate in all general sales agents' and airline expenditure work, review work for accuracy, ensure correct input to the general ledger system, provide information to management, and compile and prepare summaries as necessary. You will monitor the monthly clearing of GSA accounts and the allocation of expenditure billed by other airlines, coordinate reconciliation and clearance of suspense accounts requiring allocation to head office controlled expenditure, and ensure that tasks are completed in accordance with the monthly and annual closedown timetables for the preparation of accounts. You will check the net payments made by general sales agents, including reviewing monthly payments to determine balances due, and check outstanding balances for further review and action. You will review monthly reports on IATA accounts billings, including the expense statements of IATA and non-IATA airlines, and ensure that all expenses are in accordance with the KAC financial rules and regulations. You will receive daily correspondence from GSA offices and other departments for action to be taken, coordinate the follow-up of all internal and external correspondence and GSAs in respect of queries on airline expenses, keep an up-to-date status on action requested and taken, and follow up until matters are resolved.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a diploma or university degree in accounting, with one year of accounting experience for university degree holders or three years of general accounting experience for diploma holders. Knowledge of relevant computer systems and good PC and keyboard skills are also required.
